My name is Kaitlyn Jones and I was born in Panama City, Florida. Being raised in the South, guns are a tradition in my family and I’ve always been a supporter of the 2nd Amendment. My mother is an attorney, and growing up, I worked in her criminal defense law firm. I ‘ve always had a passion and interest in studying the law. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida (UCF). During my time at UCF, I had the opportunity to complete a comparative Rule of Law program in Volgograd, Russia with UCF’s legal studies department. After undergrad, I moved to the Netherlands, where I completed a Masters in International Relations with a focus on law. While in the Netherlands, I worked for the Hague Institute for the Internationalization of Law and worked on publications with the International Criminal Court. These experiences motivated me to continue the study of law.
In 2013, I moved back to the United States and began law school at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts the following year. When my husband got a job in Reno in my third year of law school, I relocated with him to Northern Nevada and am proud to call the Reno/Sparks area my new home. The seasons here are absolutely beautiful and I instantly fell in love with Lake Tahoe. My favorite weekend activity is hiking with my husband and my dog, Riggs. The people here are very friendly and welcoming, I quickly felt at home. I became a Supreme Court rule 49.5 Certified Student Attorney after relocating and was admitted to the Nevada Bar under the limited practice rule, happily working at Jesse Kalter Law. Watching the way Jesse interacts with and treats his clients in such a professional and caring manner is something I strive for and greatly admire. He is a great trial lawyer due to his experience and knowledge of the law combined with his ability to think quickly on his feet and has so many cases under belt. I’ve learned so much from Jesse and am fine tuning my skills while am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you on your case in the same manner.
